June 2, 2005: From the Official Genesis Website:
Both Mike and Tony have been interviewed at length
for an article to appear in Mojo on progressive
rock. We do not currently have the publication date
but will publish it here as soon as we know.
Also, Nick Davis has completed work on the 5.1
SACD re-mix of Foxtrot and is currently working
out in France. On his return he will begin work
on another album in the Genesis back catalogue.
Which album has yet to be decided. News when it's
available.
Release dates for the SACD versions of The Lamb
Lies Down on Broadway, Nursery Cryme and Foxtrot
have not yet been sent. The re-mixes await the final
approval of all concerned in their original recording
and will be published when available.

The Farm Archives - a tantalizing vision
May 19, 2005
As previously mentioned, work moves forward on
the cataloging and digitizing of The Farm's live
tape archive. We await further news on what may
see the light of day and when. In the meantime,
Nick Davis's mate Dave Scarl took some shots of
the draws in the flight case that currently stores
the tapes. A few are shown below as a tantalizing
glimpse of goodies we hope will come soon. The tapes
are arrayed in date order and those with a green
sticker are the ones that Geoff Callingham and Dale
Newman have so far digitized. We hope to have word
from 'the management' in the next few weeks about
how releases of these tapes will progress in the
coming months.
Dave also interviewed Geoff Callingham about the
process of cataloguing and digitizing the archives
(with a few contributions from Nick). It includes
an excerpt from the Palasport concert from 6th Feb
1974. You can see the interview by clicking HERE

April 27, 2005: From the Official Genesis Website:
Nursery
Cryme SACD re-mix complete. Foxtrot next! Nick Davis has completed work on the 5.1
SACD remix of the early Genesis classic 'Nursery
Cryme'. In about ten days he will start work on
a similar re-working of the 'Foxtrot' album.
Work on the 'Nursery Cryme' remix was done fairly
quickly as some of the tracks were recorded on only
8 tracks (see the original 8-track listings below
for 'For Absent Friends' and 'Well!' (?) [top] and
the 16-track listings for the two parts of 'The
Fountain of Salmarcis' [sic]. Yes, the track was
constantly mis-spelled on the tape boxes). This
left limited scope for a major overhaul on some
tracks. However, on both the 8 track and 16 track
masters, Nick was able to strip out the various
different elements that had been recorded on the
same tracks and, using the 48 channel desk at The
Farm, gain greater control over all of the voices
and instruments used. Whilst we were there, Nick
was tweaking his remix of 'The Musical Box'. The
5.1 mix sounded extraordinarily powerful with elements
emerging from the background that had only previously
been hinted at. It sounded like a major sonic leap
forward from the 94 re-masters with a far greater
dynamic range and clarity.
Work on Archives moves on! Geoff Callingham and Dale Newman are deep
into the cataloguing and digitising of the hundreds
of sound board tapes stored at The Farm. Hidden
away, an unassuming flight case conceals more than
it reveals. Within its draws lie literally hundreds
of live tapes from the early 70s right through to
the CAS Tour.

There
is an exclusive Interview with The Musical Box Drummer
Martin Levac online. Martin talks about his life
before The Musical Box, the Live Show and the special
evening in Geneva, when Phil joined the band on
stage.
Due to various decisions about the world-wide
release dates of "The Lamb SACD" and some
other technical issues a decision has been made
to postpone the release of the SACD until much later
in 2005.

Irish Examiner Breaking News
10:31:31 - 29/11/2004 : Phil Collins: 'Genesis
won't reunite'
Genesis frontman Phil Collins has rubbished rumours
the band plan to reunite - despite their new record
release.
The group - who officially split in 1998 - are
now temporarily back together to promote new record
The Platinum Collection.
But Collins dashes fans hopes of a proper comeback
- he's too busy spending time with his family.
He says: "With most bands, the cliché
is they split up because they hate each other, whereas
we get on great. There's no reason why we can't
see each other and remain friends.
"There's no reason why we shouldn't write
songs together. But something in me resists it.
Once you do an album, there's an inevitable tour.
I'm trying to dig my heels in, and the idea of a
Genesis tour is out of the question."

June
19, 2002 - This from Todd Richards, WBWC Radio
in Cleveland, Ohio:
My
name is Todd Richards and I am a producer and host
at WBWC in Cleveland, Ohio.USA. I am happy to announce
to you that Genesis is part of the summer marathon
series at our station. Along with my co-host Mike
Lowell, I shall host an 18 hour day of all Genesis
(along with solo material, side projects etc.).
August 22nd, begining at 7am till 1am the next day.
Pending
the US Copyright offices decision on online broadcast
of music (royalties, copyrights etc). we plan on
streaming the show via real audio at www.wbwc.com.
It
is very exciting to be doing this. Mike and I are
longtime fans of the band. We both attendended the
WE CAN'T DANCE tour here in Cleveland in 1992, and
I previously had the fantastic experience of the
INVISIBLE TOUR in Dallas in 1987. Since then we
have been thrilled to have the Archive Sets, along
with the newly released DVD of the WE CAN'T DANCE
tour.
I
am currently finalising plans for an interview with
Daryl Stuermer, and possibly Steve Hackett - hopefully
they will both come through - surely adding to the
great musical history that day.
