November 6, 2005: THIS JUST IN (Courtesy of Reuters news on Yahoo)

TEL AVIV, Israel (Reuters) - British singer and songwriter Phil Collins said on Sunday he would be open to a reunion of his old band Genesis, a day before he is set to perform in Israel as part of his what he calls his final tour.

"I'm open for it," said Collins, 54, the most prominent international music star to perform in Israel since the start of a Palestinian uprising more than five years ago.

"I'm happy to sit behind the drums and let Peter (Gabriel) be the singer. If (a reunion) happens, I'll be there. If it doesn't happen ... it would just be because there are too many things in the way," Collins told reporters in Tel Aviv.

Collins' concert on Monday in Jaffa, a quarter of Tel Aviv, is part of his "First Final Farewell Tour." He said that he would stop touring "soon" in order to be able to spend more time with his family, but would like to continue to record music.

Collins said he wasn't afraid in Israel, where Israeli-Palestinian violence has raged for more than five years, although attacks have largely decreased during the past year since a February truce. He performed in Lebanon a day earlier.

"I wish it wasn't like this," Collins said of the conflict. "I sit and watch stuff on the television, I think, 'Why, why, why."'

Groups like progressive rockers Jethro Tull, boy band Westlife and metal bands Megadeth and the Scorpions, have performed in Israel during the uprising. Other artists, such as Madonna, have canceled planned concerts, though she visited Israel last year on a Kabbalah pilgrimage.

The progressive rock group Genesis formed in 1967 and were internationally successful for more than 30 years. Collins, the band's first drummer, took over as singer after Gabriel quit the group in 1975 to become a solo artist.

Collins left in 1996 to concentrate on his own solo career having already scored solo hits in the 1980s with "Against All Odds" and "In the Air Tonight."

After a shuffle of band members, including an Israeli drummer, Genesis finally called it quits in 1998.

PRAGUE CONCERTS POSTPONED

It has now been confirmed that BOTH Prague concerts (Monday and Tuesday) have been postponed because of Phil's illness.

They will now take place on Wednesday 23rd and Thursday 24th November. Tickets for Monday's show will be valid for Wednesday 23rd and tickets for Tuesday's show are valid for Thursday 24th November.

Any queries about tickets should be addressed to the agencies through which the tickets were originally bought.

Again, we are sorry for the short-notice of this postponement but Phil getting ill and losing his voice is not something anyone can plan for.

As far as we know all other concerts on the tour are unaffected. However, we will keep people informed by email and on the web site as soon as we have news.

DRUMMERS BACK PETA CAMPAIGN

Drummers TOMMY LEE and PHIL COLLINS have donated autographed drum sticks to a new People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) campaign against fast food chain KFC.

The drum sticks will be auctioned to raise funds for PETA's Kentucky Fried Cruelty campaign to stop the company allegedly abusing chickens at factory farms.

PETA complain KFC "cut the beaks off baby chickens without painkillers, breed and drug chickens to grow so fat that their legs actually become crippled under their own weight, and scald millions of chickens to death every year in feather-removal tanks in the slaughterhouse, all while they're still conscious and able to feel pain."

Lee and Collins join a star-studded list of PETA supporters - SIR PAUL McCARTNEY, the BEASTIE BOYS, GOOD CHARLOTTE, and the BLACK EYED PEAS all back the anti-KFC campaign.

September 15, 2005:

Phil's long time friend and bass player Leland Sklar was recently on tour promoting his band Barefoot Servants and their new album. For more information about the band go to their web site Barefoot Servants (you will need Flash installed) or to Atom Records. their label.

Lee (as he is known to his friends) has kindly offered to answer fans' questions about his career and his work with Phil. To put a question to Leland Sklar follow this link.

Barefoot Servants, along with artists such Prince, have elected to primarily self-distribute their new CD, making it available at their own web site www.barefootservants.net. Jon says, "We've decided that we're done with handing over the lion's share of sales to major corporations. It's an old way of doing business that makes no sense from an artist's point of view."

Phil lashes out at Oasis

Phil Collins has got his own back on Oasis after a decade of insults from the Gallagher brothers.

He described Noel and Liam as "horrible" as he nominated the band on BBC2's Room 101.

And to the delight of the 55-year-old former Genesis singer, Paul Merton agreed to put the band into 'exile'.

Phil moaned: "They're rude and not as talented as they think they are. I won't mince words here but they've had a go at me personally."

Before 1997's general election, Noel warned the public to vote Labour or face tax exile Phil returning from Switzerland.

Noel said: "People f***ing hate c***s like Phil Collins - and if they don't, they f***ing should."

And as recently as June, he groaned: "Why did he sell so many records in the '80s? I mean, f***ing hell."

June 2, 2005: Phil on Live 8:

"It has come to my attention that various sources have started to speculate on my involvement in "Live 8". All I can say is that I have not been asked to participate, and indeed cannot if I were asked. In fact I know nothing about it.

I wholly support the principle of the event but, as I said, I have not been approached, and will not be available at that time. I am in touch with Bob G, and have narrated his own "Live Aid" special for radio. So it is absolutely nothing personal. I love him dearly. I have done numerous interviews over the last 12 months celebrating both "Band Aid" and "Live Aid", and I was very proud to have been involved with both events. So, if you see my name linked with this event, by all means support it, but don't expect me to be there singing."

April 9, 2005: Bulgarian TV Show Woos Sting, Phil Collins

A Bulgarian reality show is negotiating possible participation from world pop legends Sting and Phil Collins, the producers have said.

The two celebrities have been invited to teach young Bulgarian wannabes in the Star Academy reality show.

Fourteen talents will be taught at the Academy for three months, and tens of cameras will capture their every move on the route to stardom.

That will be the second season of the Big Brother project, which has already gathered tremendous popularity in Bulgaria.

Experts have been curious about whether the second season would have such groundbreaking success, or the interest of the audience would subside bit by bit.

Ahead of her new role as the Prince's Consort, Camilla Parker Bowles has generously delved into her wardrobe and handpicked a significant outfit to donate to the innovative online celebrity charity auction hosted by fashion retail site www.clothesagency.com. The prized black Valentino skirt suit (accompanying picture) was worn to the opening of an exhibition at Somerset House in November 2000 - one of the first official engagements that Camilla attended with Prince Charles, and a true turning point in his campaign for public acceptance of her as his official companion.

One of the items that Camilla Parker Bowles received included this item from Phil Collins: A green cashmere Versace blazer worn on his "Serious" tour.
